Marian Hill talk backstage rituals and making music to make love to

Marian Hill’s breakout hit “Down” provided the soundtrack to a recent Apple commercial, burning up the charts to become the most Shazam’d song - a title it held for weeks on end. The duo’s moody brand of jazzy, electro-pop has catapulted them to fame, with their debut album “Act One” showcasing their “less is more” approach to music.

France 24’s Richelle Harrison Plesse sat down with Samantha and Jeremy from the band to talk about backstage rituals and what it takes to create their sultry sound in the studio. Plus, we meet a Parisian choir helping music-loving refugees adapt to their new lives in France, and we mark 50 years since the release of the Beatles’ “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, widely regarded as one of the greatest records of all time.
