Music show: Tkay Maidza, reinventing Australian hip-hop

With her rapid-fire rhymes and bouncy beats, Zimbabwean-Australian rapper-singer Tkay Maidza has turned the Australian hip-hop scene on its head. She talks to Richelle Harrison Plesse about fusing hip-hop and electro-pop sounds for her debut album "TKAY", which has just been released in Europe.

With her radio-friendly party anthems, she’s been compared to the likes of Azealia Banks and M.I.A. and has already worked with some of the biggest names in the business; from super-producers Martin Solveig and Mark Ronson to Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike.
