The sound of 'Silence': Scorsese returns with religious epic

The legendary American director embarks on a voyage to 17th century Japan in this historical drama, as he follows two Jesuit priests tasked with a special mission. We take a closer look at the project that Scorsese has kept close to his heart for a quarter of a century.

Also, clowning around in a cold climate: Russian performer Slava brings his surreal, circus style to Paris.

Meanwhile, we try to see the funny side, as UK artists laugh in the face of Brexit and provide some comic relief amid the political turmoil.

And a panoramic view of one of Britain’s most celebrated painters: the Tate Modern puts together a retrospective of David Hockney’s work.
