EUROPE NOW

We take you to the 28 EU member states for a series of exclusive reports and interviews with local MEPs. Produced in partnership with the European Parliament. Saturday at 12.10 pm.

Latest update : 2017-06-08

UK holds crucial election, one year after Brexit (part 2)

In this second part of Europe Now, we leave the pro-Remain capital and head to the north of the country, to Yorkshire, where the Leave vote was victorious. Our guest is Richard Corbett, a Labour MEP, who shows us the two sides of the region – to Leeds, which narrowly voted to stay a year ago, and to Bradford, where the choice went the other way.

With Brexit set to impact the very make-up of the United Kingdom, our reports take a closer look at the impact in Scotland and Northern Ireland, amid renewed calls for Scottish independence and concerns about a new "hard border" with the Republic of Ireland.

Presented by Eve Irvine
Camera: Luke Brown and Basile Le Marc’hadour
