Since the beginning of the summer, an average of 500 Haitians have tried to cross the US-Canadian border every day. Once in Canada, they hope to be eligible for asylum. The exodus from the US comes after President Donald Trump announced plans to end a program that granted them temporary stay in the US following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
