An unprecedented wave of forced expulsions is taking place in Beijing, with tens of thousands of people - most of them migrant workers - forced from their homes in the less-developed suburban areas. Citing safety, the crackdown has left thousands homeless as authorities attempt to keep the population figures in the Chinese capital below 23 million. However, this heavy-handed approach is generating a considerable amount of opposition. Our correspondent reports.
