Emmanuel Macron has unveiled his grand plan to make French the third most spoken language in the world. Currently it's Chinese, Spanish and then English in the top three. It's an ambition founded in far more than chauvinistic pride. The expansion of the use of French brings with it aspects of French lifestyle. It's a way to take over the world that's very different from the colonial warfare of the past.
