2nd FRANCE 24-RFI Web Documentary award

The jury of the 2010 FRANCE 24 - RFI Web documentary Award, chaired by photographer Samuel BOLLENDORFF, met in Perpignan on Tuesday, September 31st at the 22nd International photojournalism Festival, Visa pour l'Image - Perpignan.

"Prison Valley", by Philippe BRAULT and David DUFRESNE, has been chosen as the winner of the 2nd annual award. The web documentary was produced by UPIAN and co-produced by ARTE.

Philippe BRAULT and David DUFRESNE offer an immersion into the heart of the Colorado prison system."We sought to reward the entry that pushed the boundaries of new forms of journalistic narrative on the web and photojournalistic technologies", said Samuel BOLLENDORFF, President of the jury.

This year, the jury would also like to add a special distinction for "Times of Crisis", by Jassim Ahmad and Ayperi Karabuda (Reuters).
