Dozens of youths trampled to death on Conakry beach

Several children are amongst the 34 people killed in a stampede at a beachside concert in Conakry. All of the young victims had turned out to the 10,000-strong event to celebrate the end of Ramadan. A week of mourning has been announced and the government has sacked one of its entertainment chiefs over the tragedy.
