A Sudanese Sun Air Boeing 737 was hijacked just after taking off from Nyala, in the Darfur region, and landed in the remote Libyan town of Kufra a few hours later. More than 100 passengers were on board the plane.

Spanair prudent over technical fault
Spanair landed a plane on Sunday to correct a technical fault, days after a Spanair plane crash killed 154 people. According to AFP, flight officials prevented many passengers from leaving the plane once they realised there was a problem.

BAA asked to sell London airports
British regulators called for Spanish group BAA to sell three airports in the United Kingdom, saying the monopoly was hurting both passengers and airlines. It has yet to be decided which airports should be sold.
