Tour de France 2012 route mistakenly revealed before official date

The Tour de France's official website accidentally published the route for the 2012 race more than a week early, specialist cycling media reported on Monday. The formal unveiling of the route is scheduled to take place in Paris next week.

Cadel Evans, a two-time runner-up at the Tour de France, became the first Australian to win cycling's most prestigious race on Sunday, in what has been described back home as one of Australia's finest ever sporting achievements.

France's Rolland takes gruelling 19th stage of Tour

France's Pierre Rolland of the Europcar team won stage 19 of the Tour de France on Friday. After the brutal mountain race, Luxembourg's Andy Schleck of Leopard Trek took the overall lead, and yellow jersey, from France's Thomas Voeckler.

Luxembourg's Andy Schleck (pictured) cruised to victory on the famed Galibier pass on Thursday, but France's Thomas Voeckler fought back to hold on to the yellow jersey by a mere 15 seconds.

Norway's Boasson Hagen wins first Alpine stage

Norway's Edvald Boasson Hagen picked up his second victory at this year's Tour de France on Wednesday, winning the first of three Alpine stages. France's Thomas Voeckler dropped 27 seconds but held on to the yellow jersey.
