Olympic champions France won the men's world handball championship on Sunday, defeating Croatia 24-19 to secure the country's third world title following victories in both 1995 and 2001.
France beat the reigning European champions Denmark 27-22 to grab a place in the world final in Croatia. The Olympic champions will face host-country and favourite Croatia.
The French handball team says it is aiming for a medal at the Beijing Olympic Games, just after having qualified for the competition by winning against Spain.
