Iran, nuclear watchdog reach deal on inspections

The United Nations nuclear watchdog said Monday that North Korea had extended an invitation to visit, a move suggesting Pyongyang is serious about a nuclear moratorium deal with the United States. But the UN watchdog said it had made no decision yet.

The UN atomic watchdog IAEA said Friday it had "major concerns" about its nuclear programme, including "possible military dimensions". Iran had refused to allow the team access to a site thought to be conducting suspicious explosive tests.

UN inspectors denied access to key military site

A team of UN nuclear inspectors led by Herman Nackaerts (left) has been denied access to a key Iranian military site, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Wednesday. The IAEA was also denied access to the Parchin site in January.
