In a bid to end a protracted struggle to get former Chadian dictator Hissene Habre to face justice, Belgium has asked the International Court of Justice to order Senegal to either try or extradite "Africa’s Pinochet".
Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister Guillaume Soro said Friday that his country was willing to hand over any fighter suspected of “blood crimes” to the International Criminal Court, regardless of which side they supported during the post-election crisis.
In front of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Serbia accused Kosovo of illegal secession, while Kosovo claimed its 2008 declaration of independence was "irreversible". The ICJ will give its non-binding decision within a year.
Serbia has said Kosovo's declaration of independence was "a major challenge to international order" as the International Court of Justice in The Hague began hearings into Pristina's decision to break away from Serbia.
Payam Akhavan, legal adviser to Georgia for the International Court of Justice, has filed a case against Russia on Georgia's behalf, accusing Moscow of ethnic cleansing from 1993 up till the present conflict over South Ossetia.
