The hugely talented but inconsistent Toulouse playmaker Frederic Michalak, 26, was left out of France's 30-strong training squad ahead of the Six Nations tournament.

England prop and Bath player Matt Stevens tested postitive for a recreational drug after a European Cup game against the Glasgow Warriors last month. Stevens has been removed from the English squad for the Six Nations tournament.

Glasgow stun Toulouse, Perpignan beat Ospreys
French side Toulouse are in a precarious position to reach the knockout stages after a shock 33-26 home defeat to Glasgow on Saturday. Perpignan beat Pool Three tabletoppers Ospreys 17-15 but were still eliminated.

Defending champions Munster have sailed into the European Cup quarter-finals with a crushing 37-14 win over Sale. French side Clermont had to say goodbye to their quarter-final hopes, despite a spectacular victory over Montauban.

French team Toulouse won at Dax (25-9) to earn a Top 14 championship record of 11 consecutive victories, and 15 in all counting European Cup matches.

France's Castres Olympique claimed its first victory of the Heineken Cup campaign with a remarkable 18-15 defeat of Pool 2 leaders Leinster. In the other match played on Friday, Ulster and Llanelli battled out a 16-16 draw.
