Mike Golding joins the leading pack
Sebastien Josse is still in the lead after 27 days at sea and is closely followed by Jean-Pierre Dick. In his third race around the globe, Britain's Mike Golding made his debut in the leading pack and is in fourth position.

Twenty-one changes in lead since race start
Sébastien Josse (BT) back in the lead, is the third different skipper to lead the Vendée Globe in the last 24 hours and the 21st lead change since the start of the race. The skippers are about to enter the Indian Ocean.

Josse still in lead at the Atlantic gate
Sébastien Josse (BT) maintains his steady lead against his two closest pursuers, Yann Eliès (Generali) and Jean-Pierre Dick (Paprec-Virbac 2), all within 100 miles. The first two sailors passed the Atlantic gate south to the Cape of Good Hope.

Josse leads comfortably in rocky weather
Almost one week after easing into the lead in the Vendée Globe solo round the world race, skipper Sebastien Josse (BT) is enjoying a 43.2 nautical mile advantage over fellow Frenchman Loïck Peyron.

Race still too close to call before Cape of Good Hope
After 20 days at sea, the nine-skipper pack leading the race were too close to each other to enable the naming of a clear front-runner before reaching the Cape of Good Hope. This morning Loïck Peyron was just 8.7 miles behind Seb Josse.

Seb Josse holds the lead in a neck and neck race
The skippers might compare the current weather conditions to a game of chance, but Seb Josse’s manoeuvres in front seem more akin to a game of chess. Yesterday evening the BT skipper wrestled the lead off Armel Le Cléach.

Skippers venture into Southern Hemisphere
Nearly half the Vendee Globe fleet have crossed into the Southern Hemisphere as leader Loïck Peyron (Gitana Eighty) stretched another two miles ahead of the pack. Jérémie Beyou is heading towards Brazil in a desperate bid to fix spreaders.

Leader Loïck Peyron crosses the equator
The stubborn leader of the Vendée Globe race Loïck Peyron passed the equator Friday on his Gitana-Eighty boat. The ranking in the rest of the pack remained unchanged as all skippers eagerly awaited fresher South Atlantic winds.

Peyron still leads Vendee fleet, while Le Cam slips to 10th place
Maintaining the lead he earned six days ago, Loick Peyron (Gitana Eighty) took charge of the Vendee Globe pack this morning in front of Sebastien Josse (BT). Jean Le Cam, in front for a few hours, slipped to 10th when his automatic pilot broke down.
