Volkswagen to cut all temporary staff
German auto group Volkswagen plans to cut all of its 16,500 temporary staff by the end of the year, according to the company's head Martin Winterkorn.

The official European data agency released new figures for January showing more than 13 million people were jobless in the eurozone, with a 8.2% unemployment rate, the highest since September 2006.

JP Morgan to cut 12,000 jobs from acquisition
US banking giant JP Morgan Chase's takeover of failed Washington Mutual retail bank will lead to cuts of some 12,000 jobs. JP Morgan Chase is hoping these measures will help them save two billion dollars by the end of 2009.

Dell to relocate flagship factory from Ireland to Poland
