Venezuelan women have won the Miss Universe contest a record seven times, including the last two editions. This sounds like vindication for plastic surgeons, in a country where breast implants have become a common treat for teenage girls.
Russia's 21-year-old Kseniya Sukhinova, from northwest Siberia, won the Miss World 2008 beauty contest on Saturday with India's Parvathay Omanakuttan coming second. The event was held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
