Police arrested leftist Russian opposition leader Eduard Limonov and around 20 other activists on Sunday at a multiparty demonstration in Moscow's Triumphalnaya Square calling for Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to resign.
At least 100 people have been arrested during protests in two Russian cities a day after former world chess champion Garry Kasparov launched a new opposition group, Solidarity, vowing to "dismantle" the regime of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
World chess champion Garry Kasparov has established a new political party that vows to "dismantle Putin's regime," a reference to the prime minister and former president, Vladimir Putin, who many believe remains the power behind the throne.
