Parliament vote paves way to early elections
The Montenegro Parliament approved its own dissolution Monday in the hope that new elections likely to be held in March will give it a clear mandate to negotiate the ex-Yugoslav republic's integration into the European Union.

Montenegro, the last Balkan state to end its union with Serbia, recognised Kosovo on Thursday, soon followed by Macedonia, in a twin blow to Belgrade's efforts to counter the secession of its former province.

Montenegro's president wins second mandate
Outgoing president Filip Vujanovic claimed victory in the Balkan state's presidential election, after one of Montenegro's election monitoring bodies estimated he had a 52.3% lead. Montenegro split from neighbouring Serbia two years ago.

Montenegro's Filip Vujanovic claimed victory in the Balkan state's presidential election, afters monitors estimated a lead of 52.4 percent based on more than 86 percent of the count. Montenegro split from neighbouring Serbia two years ago.
