France's Sylvain Chavanel wins his first stage on the Tour
Sylvain Chavanel from France won the 19th stage of the Tour de France, a 165.5-km ride from Roanne to Montlucon. His compatriot Jérémy Roy finished second. However, Spaniard Carlos Sastre retained the leader's yellow jersey.

 

 

France's Sylvain Chavanel of the Cofidis team won the 19th stage of the Tour de France, a 165.5-km ride from Roanne to Montlucon on Friday.

 

 

He beat compatriot Jeremy Roy of the Francaise des Jeux team, with German Gerald Ciolek coming home third for Team Columbia.

 

 

Spaniard Carlos Sastre of the CSC team retained the overall leader's yellow jersey.
