The French President Emmanuel Macron has given an address to both houses of parliament outlining his roadmap for the next five years. He chose the opulent Palace of Versailles for this state-of-the-union-style speech, raising eyebrows among some of the opposition and press who called the ceremony "monarchical", while others drew comparisons with Napoleon himself.
