Acclaimed US author Russell Banks on globetrotting, refusing to take travel photos and Donald Trump

From Alaska to the Andes and Cuba to Curacao, award-winning American author Russell Banks takes readers on a journey to all four corners of the globe with his latest book, "Voyager, Travel Writings". The work is also a memoir; a collection of travel essays interwoven with reflections on how his wanderlust and need to escape affected the relationships in his life.

As "Voyager, Travel Writings" hits bookshelves in France, Russell Banks talks to France 24’s Richelle Harrison Plesse about the difference between travellers and tourists, what it was like to meet Fidel Castro, and the real meaning behind Donald Trump’s head-scratching "covfefe" tweet.
