Deadly crackdown on New Year's Eve protests in DR Congo

The archbishop of Kinshasa denounces a crackdown on anti-government demonstrations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, calling it “barbarism”. This as the death toll rises to 12, according to protesters. And with dozens of white farmers murdered in South Africa in 2017, apartheid's legacy of racial violence lives on.
