In the past months, Iran has been negotiating its way back into the international community, hoping to secure a potential easing of the West's economic embargo. Meanwhile smugglers are making the most of a flourishing trade. In the Straits of Hormuz, so called "shooties" boat-in contraband goods from Oman, products that are forbidden in Iran, such as electronics, medicine or American beverages. This illegal trade takes place in broad daylight under the indifferent gaze of the Omani authorities.
