21 JULY 2010 - FRANCE 24 LAUNCHES A NEW iPHONE APPLICATION

Latest update : 2010-07-26

Already accessible on the Apple Store, FRANCE 24 launches a new iPhone application today which is completely free, available in English, French and Arabic, and is compatible with the iPad.

The new application gives full access to all FRANCE 24 programs live or in VoD and allows the viewers to replay all of the broadcasts over the last two months.

In addition, an innovative mapping tool allows users to find news according to their location thanks to FRANCE 24’s automatic and geographical referencing of news articles and videos.

Following the classification of the FRANCE 24 web site, the articles and all the videos are also available by geographical zone (France, Africa, Middle-East, Europe, the Americas, Pacific Asia) or by category (Sports, Culture, Health, Economy and Technology, Ecology, News Reports, Weather).

Thanks to the “Reporter mobile” application, the users can directly interact with the editors of the channel by sending in their own photos and videos, therefore contributing to the latest news.

Since the videos are available by 3G connection or Wifi, the service is updated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The new FRANCE 24 application is developed by le LAB, FRANCE 24’s Multimedia Studio, with the support of the company Backelite.
