Euro Zooming
In partnership with the European Parliament, FRANCE 24 presents “Euro Zooming”, a weekly magazine segment that introduces us to Europeans, their realities and their questions.
With France assuming the presidency of the European Union since July 1, 2008, FRANCE 24 presents a weekly report focusing on how the union influences the daily lives of Europeans. 'Euro Zooming' profiles European citizens, their questions and the problems they face.
‘Eurozooming’ airs on Mondays in ‘The Week in Europe,’ presented by Caroline de Camaret at 18h10 Paris time (GMT+2), then at 21h26. You can find it online on Tuesday mornings.
No messing around with toys
Since the European Union has tried to increase security over children's toys, some British stores are still tempted to sell cheaper ones made in Chinese factories with sometimes opaque fabrication standards.
Budapest hit by the financial crisis
Hungary is one of the countries hardest hit in Europe by the financial crisis. Budapest has had to accept a 20 billion euro loan from the IMF, European Union and World Bank. How are local companies managing their business?
The Grand Duchy has grander fears
With some 300 lending bodies, including the headquarters of the European Investment Bank, Luxembourg is home to the greatest concentration of banks in the European Union. But the landlocked nation hasn't been sheltered from the financial storm.
Greece and FYROM still at odds over the name Macedonia
Greece does not recognise the name "Republic of Macedonia" for the former Yugoslav republic, and the disagreement is a roadblock to the country's entry into the European Union.
