Audiovisual Maintenance Technician
Missions:
The maintenance service covers three areas – system & network (5 people), broadcasting (5 people), the PC-Telephone hotline (10 people) – and is responsible for smooth operation of all the means mentioned below.
The maintenance staff work is under the direct responsibility of the Maintenance Manager.
The Technical System Administrator works in the system & network unit in charge of maintaining the whole network (Cisco), all business servers and their databases (AVID servers for News, Harris for automation).
If need be, this technician may assist the broadcasting and hotline units covering client workstations (Avid NewsCutter, iNews, Protools, etc.).
He supervises the system using an in-house SNMP supervisor.
In the event of a system failure, he/she may participate in the implementation of degraded operating modes in cooperation with the operations and editorial teams.
Occasionally he/she may work with the hotline unit to diagnose and repair faults.
Skills:
. Conversational French.
. Knowledge of audiovisual standards: SDI, AES, MPEG2&4, AES, DVCPRO, IMX, etc.
. Knowledge of equipment from leading audiovisual vendors: AVID, GRASSVALLEY, PANASONIC, etc.
. Networks: TCP/IP-Ethernet (Cisco).
. OS: Windows and Unix; SQL and Oracle databases.
. Servers & PCs: HP, DELL, IBM, etc.
. Supervision: HPOPENVIEW, MMS PATROL, etc.
. Operational versatility.
Profile:
. High-school graduate + 2-3 years training in IT / networks / audiovisual.
. Minimum of 2 years experience, ideally in the audiovisual sector.
. Solid ability to work under stress.
. Rigorous, autonomous and with a taste for responsibility.
. Curious and inventive.
. Personal dynamism and good communication skills
