Following four days of armed conflict, Moscow has unilaterally declared an end to its military advance. With Russian forces firmly in control of South Ossetia, what is the outcome, so far, of the war over Georgia's breakaway province?

Following four days of armed conflict, Moscow has unilaterally declared an end to its advancing military operations in Georgia. And now Tblisi is left looking at its losses. Russia has gained full control over the breakaway province of South Ossetia, and the Georgian city of Gori has suffered serious damage.

Though it seems the Georgian public is largely rallying in support of President Mikhail Saakashvili, will he be able to maintain that backing once the conflict dust has settled? The debate discusses the outcome so far, of the Russian Georgian war over South Ossetia.
