Canada loses its Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix has been dropped from the Formula One world championship schedule and replaced with the inaugural Abu Dhabi race. The FIA's decision means there will be no race in North America.

    The Italian Olympic Committee revealed that Leonardo Piepoli tested postive twice for banned substances during this year's Tour de France, without revealing what product he used. The cyclist denied any link to doping at a hearing last summer.

    Poland retains Euro 2012 organisation
    FIFA lifted the suspension threat hanging on Poland after authorities there confirmed they would restore the sacked management of the country's football federation. The suspension would have resulted in Poland not being able to host Euro 2012.

    Laure Manaudou will train in sunny Marseille
    Sydney gold medallist Laure Manaudou has chosen Marseille's swimming centre to pursue her career. After leaving the Beijing Olympics in tears, she took time off amid doubts about her future. She has now decided to get back to competition.
