Tony Parker out for one month with sprained ankle
The struggling San Antonio Spurs will be deprived of NBA star Tony Parker for one month after the French guard sprained his left ankle during the team's defeat to the Miami Heat last Friday.
San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker could miss up to four weeks of the season with a sprained left ankle, the San Antonio Express-News reported Monday.
France's Parker left Friday's game against the Miami Heat late in the first quarter with an ankle injury.
Parker rolled the ankle when he landed awkwardly after a drive to the basket in the loss to the Heat.
Just two days earlier, the all-star scored 55 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. An MRI on Parker's ankle revealled a grade two sprain.
Parker's injury leaves the Spurs with only two true point guards, veteran Jacque Vaughn and rookie George Hill, who has been playing with a splint on his sprained left thumb. Vaughn did not play in the last two games.
