Everybody wants a slice of halal food business
The halal food business accounts for three billion euros in sales in France and more than 150 billion dollars throughout the world. Big companies want to be part of that growing market, but in France there is no law to regulate production.

With all of this hokus pokus bolloney, it reminds me once again why I dropped out of religion all together: the first act of my adult life.
Halal Meat In The UK
In London - Halal meat is often of low quality - although some of the butchers are good - more often they are not.
We have incidence where - chicken sold in large quantities as halal - has been soaked in bleach - because it was substandard to begin with - and since it is meant to be bloodless it passes for halal.
While in Morocco I say chicken killed halal - it was all done in seconds - so fast - that I wondered what the specific religious process was. And was told that where the butcher chops the meat is facing Mecca.
What was apparent was that there was no visible difference between the way it was killed - under halal and without it.

This is just anther sad story about the cruel and inhumane torture of animals for the sake of profits.
If a muslim - or jew for that matter - feels that eating meat is absolutely necessary for him, he should first look that the animal is not concious in the process of slaughter.
After all, the halal was also a means to discern the believer from barbaric pagans who ate animals that were still alive.
The production of halal meat therefore has to be regulated to fulfill the demands of the believer and the humane treatment of animals as well.
We muslims are no barbarians and we do not want to live in the middle ages!
