change of power with no violence?

Dear Amit,
I read your comments more as an exhortation for peace than commentary on what has taken place. I also would hope that political change in Madagascar be done in a way that avoids violence and bloodshed. Yet regarding the specific events that brought Andry Rajoelina to power on March 17, 2009, they were anything but peaceful. Here is some video footage of the events on that day as well as commentary from one Malagasy leader who lived to tell speak about it.-SJ

Transfer of Government

It is difficult to react on political change in Madagascar. But all Peaceful people expect that there should not any kind of violance or revengeful action. Any party which will become Government shall protect Democrasy. And I expect that government shoul concentrate on Environment, Edjucaton and Employment.
