AFP - The flight data recorder from the Airbus A310 operated by Yemenia Airlines that crashed on June 30 off the Comoros, killing 152 people, has been found, the chief investigator said Friday.
"The investigation commission confirms that the flight data recorder... was located. Operations to retrieve it have started," chief investigator Ali Abdou Mohamed said in a statement.
A specially-equipped French vessel has led the search in the Indian Ocean for the plane's two black boxes over the past week.
The causes of the crash of the plane, which was carrying mainly passengers of Comoran origin living in France, remain unknown.
