AFP - Swedish stated-owned power company Vattenfall announced Monday the appointment of Oeystein Loeseth as its new chief executive, to take over before summer 2010.

"We are pleased to have found in Oeystein Loeseth an internal candidate who in the best of ways meets our needs," Lars Westerberg, the chairman of Vattenfall's board, said in a statement.
