AFP - An explosion at a mine in northeast China early Saturday killed 15 workers and left 114 trapped, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV said.

The incident happened at about 2:30 am (1830 GMT Friday) at a mine in China's Heilongjiang province, according to an earlier report from Xinhua news agency.

The company confirmed that 528 miners were working in the mine when the blast occurred, Xinhua said.
