Aussie Mumm gets Wales reward for midweek work

AFP - Waratahs lock Dean Mumm has seen his work as captain of Australia's midweek team rewarded with a place in the starting side to play Wales in their tour finale at the Millennium Stadium here on Saturday.
The in-form second row led the Wallabies to a 31-3 thrashing of Cardiff Blues on Tuesday and had now relegated Mark Chisholm to the bench.
Australia's under-pressure coach Robbie Deans has made two other changes to the team stunningly beaten 9-8 by Scotland last weekend.
The New Zealander continued his tour policy of rotating his openside flanker by bringing in David Pocock for the experienced George Smith while in the backs Digby Ioane is at outside centre after a shoulder injury forced his late withdrawal at Murrayfield - Australia's first loss to Scotland in 27 years.
Ioane replaces Ryan Cross.
Scrum-half Will Genia (knee), No 8 Wycliff Palu (neck) and powerful loosehead prop Benn Robinson (shoulder) have all been passed fit to play after coming through Thursday's training session.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Kurtley Beale is on the bench after scoring two tries against Cardiff Blues and the utility back could now win his first Test cap this weekend.
Deans, reflecting on the return of his injured quartet, said: "They're all, in their own right, influential players, both in terms of their actions and the impact that they have on their mates around them, so it is good to have them all back on deck."
Defeat by Scotland was a result few saw coming and New Zealander Deans insisted: "No-one was more disappointed than us, in terms of the way our most recent Test outing turned out.
"We can't alter that outcome now but we're not dwelling on it either. We will learn the lessons from that experience and move on.
"As a group, we are fortunate that we have another opportunity, so that we can attempt to end this tour, and the year, on a more positive note."
Australia lost last year's corresponding fixture against Wales 21-18 and Deans said: "This match is a big test of our collective character as a group, there's no doubt about that.
"The Welsh are a formidable opponent. They've consistently been one of the best teams in Europe during the last two years, have an experienced playing roster, and had a wide representation on the British and Irish Lions tour (of South Africa) earlier in the year."
Wales comes into the final game of their November series on the back of successive wins over Samoa and Argentina after starting off with a 19-12 loss to New Zealand.
There are only six survivors in the Australia starting side from the team that played Wales last year in Ioane, Drew Mitchell, Peter Hynes, Matt Giteau, Stephen Moore and Robinson.
Mitchell (who played full-back) and Ioane (wing) are now in different positions.
Australia arrived in Europe bidding to emulate the celebrated 1984 Wallabies by completing a grand slam of wins over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales on the one tour.
But after an 18-9 win over England, the dream died with a 20-20 draw against Six Nations champions Ireland and then came the shock loss to Scotland.
Australia have won just five of their 13 Tests this year so whatever happens on Saturday they will have a losing record for 2009.
