Iran revolution: a contested legacy
The Iranian government has once again grappled with its opponents. The 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution this Thursday brought a vast crowd of regime supporters into Tehran's freedom square. But at a counter-rally, the opposition was calling for freedom, and claiming the mantle of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.
