Navigating the strike: a traveller's survival guide (Oct. 19)

Air:

Fifty percent of flights from Paris Orly airport will be cancelled on Tuesday 19, as well as 30 percent of flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle and other airports. Some domestic and European flights are being cancelled but airlines intend to maintain international and long-haul flights. A possible fuel shortage may lead to additional disruptions. Strike action by airport staff will continue on Wednesday across France.

Rail:

International:

EUROSTAR (To London): Normal service.
THALYS (Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands): Following interuptions to services due to a strike affecting Belgian trains, traffic is expected to return to normal progressively starting Tuesday 19. Trains to Germany are running at near normal service. 
TGV / LYRIA (to Switzerland): Normal service to Zurich, one train in two to Geneva and Lausanne, no trains to Berne. 
ARTESIA (France-Italy): One Paris-Milan train running in the daytime. Paris-Rome and Paris-Venice running at night.

National:

TGV: One in two running on average.
      - From or to Paris: Six in ten trains.
      - Inter-province (avoiding Paris): One in four trains running.
CORAIL: One in three daytime trains running.
TÉOZ: One in three trains running on average. 
TER: One in two trains running.
LUNEA: No night trains running from Sunday 17 to Tuesday 19.

TRANSILIEN: Average of three in five trains running during rush hour.

RER, Metro and Tram system:

RER A: Two trains out of three running.

RER B: One in two trains running. Early departure is advised for trains to Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports.

RER C, D and E: At least half of all trains are running with some disruptions.

Metro, tramways and city buses: Normal or near normal service for all lines.
