Fresh attacks, car bombs bring chaos to Kano

Residents in the northern Nigerian city of Kano said Tuesday they heard explosions and gunshots coming from an area near the police station, following last week's deadly gun battles in which at least 185 people were killed.

AFP - Explosions and gunfire were heard early Tuesday coming from an area near a police station in the Nigerian city of Kano, where coordinated attacks and gun battles last week killed at least 185 people.

An AFP correspondent heard some 15 blasts and gunshots coming from the vicinity of a mobile police headquarters. Details were not immediately clear, and police were not available for comment.

One resident reported a similar account.

"I was awoken from sleep by explosions and gunshots coming from the mobile barracks and police station opposite," the resident said, adding that they had stopped after several minutes.

"It's terrifying ... It's too dangerous to go out, besides there is curfew."

Sporadic gunfire could still be heard after the explosions halted.

A nighttime curfew is in effect in the wake of Friday's attacks in Kano claimed by Islamist group Boko Haram.

these things are not good and for a country as old as ours, its very painful guys! our country is blessed and beautiful and i just wonder why we are destroying the beauty of our nation, why the killing, for years the power has been among the northern and western people just this one time, the norther people are boiling. well, i think one thing is the solution and that is education! the people must start thinking globally and have some respect for life. our sick politicians must stop taking advantage of the youths.you cant provide them with education because you dont want them to have a life, then you buy them guns and bombs to kill them selves, where are your own children? over seas i guess, the youths must think!

This problem has been there befor the British give Nigeria Indipendent and they know that nigeria is not a one nation they have Yoroba(Oduduwa Repoblic)Igbo(Repoblic of Biafra) and Hawusa the musilem that is (Nigeria State).
They Have to give all this 2 state an indipendent if not there will no peace in that so call Nigeria This is all I have to say all of you can see it too.So that the Shara low will be with the people that ask or need it and the christens will do there things in they christen way
