The church needs to become aggressive and radical. We dont need a peaceful church. The church should be in conflict with the state and have its own warriors. We reject a church that support the Human Rights Act.
Shall we not ask ourselves, are we perfect? Does modern man have the answer to death? Can a fleeting contemporary moment cancel 2000 years of history. Let's humbly pause and ask if we have the greatest wisdom in the history of the human race.
Cardinal Martini, I'm so sorry you have passed away. Your open-mindedness would have brought the Catholic Church up to date with society.
As you said, the Church is full of pompous, bureaucratic and ritualistic people - I hope there is another Cardinal, like yourself, who will carry your voice on.
The Catholic Church must change, otherwise it will remain empty!
