Legalising gay marriage and adoption was central to President François Hollande’s election manifesto. But it is coming against stronger than expected opposition, with the Catholic Church joining calls for the proposed law to be rethought.

My question is... Why is the Catholic Church interfering with marriage between same sex couples? What if the couple is not Catholic, but Muslim, or Protestant, or Jewish, or Buddhists or Atheists?
Why does the Catholic Church feel it should stick it's nose again into something that's got nothing to do with it?
Why doesn't the Catholic Church let us all know what has happened with the Pedophile prist issue? Has it swept it under the carpet again? Is that why it is concentrating it's efforts on same sex marriage instead?
The only reason why the Catholic Church has put their opinions in is because they are afraid of losing control over the French government. Gay marriage is not the "ultimate deceit"; to deny God's Love is the ultimate deceit. Love is love and it comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and forms. If there are two people who are of the same sex that love each other enough to want to spend the rest of their lives together, then they should be allowed to get married. If a couple wants to have a child, by all means, let them. After all, they are human beings just like every one else. Stop treating the GLBT community as if they have the plague. It is a shame that people are still having to fight for their rights in this day and age. They go to church, they vote in elections, they shop and fight and love just as hard as anyone because that is what they were built to do, it is human nature. Another thing, times are changing; France and the Catholic Church, get with the programme. Catholic Church, focus your energies on something else, preferrably not government related. French Government, there are more important issues going on in France other than should two people be allowed to marry and adopt despite being the same sex. Let's face it, the world is falling and you are worried about something that shouldn't even be an issue. Solve it, allow them to marry and adopt and then worry about your economic problems, not the domestic (in the home).
