Same-sex marriage in France: Popping the question too soon?

President François Hollande campaigned on legalising gay marriage. Yet it’s turning into a potential political minefield for both government and opposition with polls now showing wavering support for the idea. A draft law is expected to go before the Cabinet on Wednesday to amend the law to allow marriages between same-sex couples.
