RECORD AUDIENCE FOR FRANCE24.COM - 19/09/2008
According to figures released by Médiamétrie/Nielsen(1), FRANCE 24’s website, FRANCE24.COM, attracted record traffic with nearly 5 million unique visitors (4,849,000 VU) in July 2008.
This is the best performance recorded by the FRANCE 24 site since its launch in December 2006. Between June and July, FRANCE24.com enjoyed a 19% rise in traffic whilst its competitors suffered significant drops in audience figures.
The site’s audience has increased, in particular inGermany (+30%), in Italy (+17%) and in Spain (+14%). With 1.6 million unique visitors, the United States continues to be the most important contributor in terms of traffic.
FRANCE24.com remains in first place in front of its international competitorsin Germany, Spain, Italy and France, and ranks 3rd in the UK behind BBC News and CNN.
The international share of the market, that is to say traffic from outside of France, reached 86%; its highest score ever.
