THE OBSERVERS DIRECT

We head out to meet France 24 Observers. They tell us more about the stories they have alerted us to. Every first Saturday of the month at 10.15 am Paris time.

Latest update : 2014-10-07

The law of the richest in the land of Google

Julien Pain meets Observers to discuss the memorable events they have witnessed. "Observers Direct" extends through television the unique and original journalistic online project, The Observers.

For this new episode of Observers Direct, our journalists head to San Francisco. High tech companies are flourishing, and their employees are getting very rich. But for longtime residents of San Francicoso like our Observer Patricia, this economic boom is turning into a nightmare. Rents have skyrocketed, and they're being evicted in droves. In the land of Google, it seems the richest always get their way, but as you'll see, Patricia is intent on fighting back.
