Ferrer, Davydenko waste no time in second round

Russia's Nikolay Davydenko and Spain's David Ferrer moved into the third round on Tuesday in Hamburg with easy two-sets wins. On Wednesday, Spain's Rafael Nadal and Swiss world number one Roger Federer enter the tournament.

    Manchester United hold on to title
    Manchester United clinched the Premier League crown over rivals Chelsea after beating Wigan Athletic 2-0 on the last day of the season. At the bottom of the table, Fulham stay in the top flight while Birmingham bid farewell to the Premiership.

    Garcia is first European winner in 21 years
    Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia is only the second European to win the Florida's Player Championship, more than two decades after Scot Sandy Lyle won the title. This is the first event win out of Garcia's 53 tournaments.

    Race for the 'Scudetto' goes down to the wire
    Second-placed Roma paved the way for a mouthwatering finale next Sunday as they surged to within one point of Inter Milan, held to a 2-2 home draw by Siena. Meanwhile, AC Milan's thrashing in Naples helped Fiorentina recover 4th place.
