    The Honduran military thwarted an attempt by ousted President Manuel Zelaya to land at Tegucigalpa airport, forcing the plane to re-route to Nicaragua. In an interview with a local TV station, Zelaya vowed to find other ways to return.

    Clashes erupted between Honduran troops and supporters of ousted President Manuel Zelaya at Tegucigalpa airport. At least one person was killed and two badly injured, according to emergency services.

    Exit polls showed Bulgaria's opposition Gerb party the victor in legislative elections Sunday, ousting the ruling Socialist party. The Socialists conceded defeat after winning just 17.1-18.5 percent of the vote and 39 seats.

    'Black box' flight recorder signal located, authorities say
    Comoran authorities said on Sunday that the French investigators probing the June 30 crash of a Yemenia airliner with 153 on board have detected the locator signal from the plane's black box flight data recorders.

    Briton Mark Cavendish won the second stage of the Tour de France on Sunday. American Tyler Farrar of Garmin-Slipstream is second with France's Romain Feillu finishing third. Fabian Cancellara retains the overall lead.

    Three Han Chinese (the nation's ethnic majority) were killed in riots taking place in the mostly Muslim region of Xinjiang on Sunday. This is a continuation of a series of ethnic/ religious clashes involving the Muslim Uighurs.
