THE AFGHAN CRISIS

Life in Taliban-istan

More than six years after a US-led coalition ousted the Taliban regime, Afghanistan is nowhere near peace. FRANCE 24's reporters are on all sides of the conflict: with Taliban fighters, with French commandoes, and with Afghans working to clear their country of deadly landmines.

All special reports

To cover the worsening situation in Afghanistan, FRANCE 24's correspondents have traveled across the country to report on the different players in the conflict.

Correspondent Claire Billet took the dangerous Kabul-Kandahar highway to interview a senior Taliban military leader. And on the other side of the struggle, Nicolas Ransom and Mathieu Mabin spent nearly two weeks with French special forces training Afghan government soldiers.

North of the capital Kabul, Melanie de Segundo visited Afghans who are putting themselves in danger to make their country safer - by clearing 30 years' worth of landmines.
