Congratulations
By Aztag Armenian newspaper, Beirut, Lebanon
We congratulate you for this insightful reporting. The tragedy of The Armenian Genocide has many facets. In addition to the 1.5 million who were killed, people have been separated from their family and relatives only to be reunited decades later. There are those as your report showed who are still searching… While some are searching for their relatives others are searching and discovering their hidden identity. Serious reporting as this one will help to shed light on the scope and sheer magnitude of the tragedy that is the Armenian Genocide.

Keep up the denial!
By Garo Sinanian
Orcun, thank you so much for providing a Turkish government website and opening our eyes. Genocide? what Genocide? You guys were so nice you even gave us pocket money as PM Erdogan said in his meeting with Bush! Thank you! :) ... no wonder why my grand parents left Kayseri for a desert safari in Syria! and some Armenians went to France for romance and Argentina to learn Tango! Now I understand! ;-)

Objectiveness...
By Orçun
Hello Murad,
As you already know, Anatolia has been the centre of many civilizations along the history, and it's very normal that the people of these civilizations are mixed up. That's what gives Turkey and us Turks the unique culture that we have. It's not a big deal that a Turk might have Armenian or Greek blood in his/her roots, and it's also same for Armenians and Greeks with Turkish blood in their roots. According to the Turkish constitution, anyone who has Turkish citizenship is considered a Turk not matter what his/her roots are. I have many Turkish-Armenian friends in Istanbul and they are proud of their "Turkishness" and Turkey as much as I do.
By the way, I advice you all to have a look at the website below to see this issue from the Turkish side and have a more objective point of view:

Turkey's Hidden Armenian
By Murad Meneshian
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until DNA testing becomes more prevalent and low cost. The "Turks" will not only be disoriented, but will also be so confused that they would not know who they really are. When one considers the hundreds of thousands of Armenians forcefully converted to Islam (Turks and Kurds) since the 11th century, and particularly during the 15th and 16 centuries, the remnants of whom are the present, still Armenian-speaking Moslem Hamshen Armenians; and then throw in the Armenian children taken away to be raised as Janisaries; add to all those Armenians the Assyrians and Greeks who were forecrully converted to Islam; then one will see who the people of today's Turkey really are. Those fanatic Turks will in the future find out that there is very little, if any, Turkish blood in today's Turk of Turkey. If they are disoriented today, tomorrow they will wind up in mental asylums for finding out that all along they have not been Turks, but Christian people of Asia Minor. Add to that the Moslems of the Balkans, and there will be the greatest confusion that Turkey has experienced. Perhaps then they can claim their Christian past as a reason to join the European Union.

My compliments to your staff of reporters and journalists who put together that superb report on the Hidden Armenians in Turkey. My grandparents were all survivors of the Armenian Genocide and I am familiar with the fact that many Armenians adopted the Muslim religion and the Turkish identity in order to survive.
Thank you for shedding light on such a taboo subject.
Sincerely,
Kevin Giragosian
