kurdish independence
By harun kaya
Dear Editor(s),
Special report on the "Kurdish Independence" is a biased ""documentery". You raised the question if the Turks and Kurds are going to live together in peace. They already live in peace together. This can be observed in big cities like İstanbul, İzmir, Adana, Mersin. Do you know any migrated Kurd in other areas of the country living with Turks, dreaming of going back to their "homeland" if the PKK "wins"? Please let the world know this! Do you also know any single Kurd who had troubles with civilians after thousands of burial ceromonies caused by the PKK. Turks never attacked Kurdish people but protested the PKK violance together with the Kurds. The PKK is responsible for mass killings in Turkey including Kurdish village settlers in the eastern part of the country. Ocalan, the leader of PKK who is in prison now, once declared that majority of the Kurdish people lack of class counciousness and should be "replaced" by new generations who would follow Marxist-Leninist tradition. More openly, because of this general counciousness they should be killed. That is why the PKK brutaly have been killing Kurds. Traditionally majority of the Kurdish tribes in the region are loyal to the Turkish government. There are thousands of Kurdish "village protectors" against the PKK threat. The PKK is not after an independent Kurdish state as you claim. The PKK is a terorist organisation which deals mainly with drug smugling. Western terminology related to the issue such as "Kurdish rebels", "Turkish occupation in the region", "Kurdish independence struggle with the Turkish army" are biased and totaly misleading. The PKK is a terrorist organisation and any kind of support behind it should be banned.
Regards,
Harun Kaya
